Walkways
Front walks, side-door paths, and routes across the yard.
Pavers and block that stay flat and tight after three Michigan winters. That comes down to what’s underneath: dug to depth, a compacted base, edge restraint, and polymeric sand in the joints.
01 What’s included
Every project gets the same base work, whether it’s a short walk to the side door or a patio off the back.
Front walks, side-door paths, and routes across the yard.
Paver patios sized for how you’ll actually use them.
Steps set where a slope or grade change needs them.
Low block walls to hold back a bed or level off a slope.
02 Process
Photos of the area and a rough idea of size and use are enough to start.
We measure, talk through layout and material, and put the scope and price in writing.
A MISS DIG 811 locate goes in first. Then we dig out, build and compact the base, and set the edge restraint.
Pavers or block go down, polymeric sand goes in the joints, spoil gets hauled off, and you look it over before you pay.
03 Pricing
Every property is different, but most people want a ballpark before they call. Here’s where these jobs typically land.
These are typical ranges, not a quote. The only number that counts is the written one you get after the walkthrough — and that one doesn’t change unless you change the scope.
04 Questions
Hardscape is quoted per project. Size, access, how much has to be dug out, and the paver or block you pick all move the number. The walkthrough and the written quote are free.
Almost always it’s what’s underneath: not dug deep enough, a base that wasn’t compacted, or no edge restraint holding the field together. That’s the part we don’t cut corners on.
Small ones, yes: low block walls to hold back a bed or level out a slope, along with steps.
Yes. Spoil from the excavation leaves on the trailer the same day instead of getting spread around your yard.
Always. A MISS DIG 811 locate ticket is filed on every excavation and we wait out the required period before breaking ground so gas, electric, water, and communications get marked first. It’s the law in Michigan and it’s the difference between a routine day and a very expensive one.
